Over £3 million of European funding has been allocated for rural businesses in the Leeds City Region to improve local tourism.
The funding, part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Growth Programme, will be available to a broad base of businesses to invest in infrastructure that will boost local tourism.
Grants start at £35,000 and can support up to 40% of capital costs are available to support increased visitor numbers, the length of stay and/or increase the amount of money spent in the City Region. Priority is being given to businesses that can demonstrate that grant funding will extend the tourism season between October and March, create quality accommodation, footpaths or cycleways, and start or expand events and festivals with legacy potential.
